The Outside Shot Chapter #2

In chapter 2, they give Lonnie a job working with a kid named Eddie Brignole. Lonnie's job basically is to be a counselor to him and attempt to get Eddie to open up. They work together at least 6 hours a week. And along with Eddie comes his mean and aggressive mother. She is so very protective of Eddie that she goes where ever he does. Lonnie tries so hard to get  Eddies attention. So he starts a game of basketball while Eddie sitting down and not responding. Lonnie thinks that Eddie's consistently ignoring his every action. But in actuality, Eddie notices everything. Surprisingly to Lonnie, Eddie has been keeping score of all the shots. When Lonnie soon realizes this, he starts to pass the ball to Eddie to see if he'll o anything, it goes straight off of his chest. Eddies mom soon has enough of the treatment Lonnie's giving him. Lonnie then tries to get Mrs. Brignole to lighten up. He does so, but when Eddie has enough grabs the ball. Lonnie tries to convince Eddie to shoot the ball  and he does. Eddie was easily discouraged when he missed, but he continued to try once more. When he made a shot he glanced over at Lonnie and he says "good shot!" Eddies mother was in a total shock. But by Eddies expression, Lonnie could tell that Eddie didn't feel  great about himself at all for some reason.
